Privacy Policy — Squawk

Effective Date: 15th September 2026 · Last Updated: 15th September 2026

TenH Tech ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how Squawk, our desktop AI-powered WhatsApp automation software, collects, uses, stores, and protects information when you download, install, and use the application.

Please read this policy carefully. By downloading, installing, or using Squawk, you agree to the practices described here.

Table of Contents

1. What Squawk Is and How It Works {#what-squawk-is}

Squawk is a desktop application that connects to your personal or business WhatsApp account through a browser-session-based connection method, similar to WhatsApp Web, and uses artificial intelligence to automatically respond to incoming one-on-one messages based on instructions you configure.

Squawk is installed and runs locally on your own computer. TenH Tech does not host, operate, or maintain any server that processes, stores, or has visibility into your WhatsApp conversations.

2. Information We Collect {#information-we-collect}

Information You Provide Directly: When configuring Squawk, you provide information such as your chosen AI provider, your own API key for that provider, custom instructions or persona settings, and licensing/account details used to activate the software.

Information Processed During Use: As Squawk operates, it processes incoming and outgoing WhatsApp message content, contact identifiers (such as phone numbers or contact names as they appear in WhatsApp), and conversation history, solely for the purpose of generating and delivering AI replies.

Licensing & Activation Data: To validate your license, Squawk communicates with TenH Tech's licensing servers and may transmit a device identifier, license key, and activation status. This is limited strictly to what is necessary to verify your license and does not include your WhatsApp message content.

Automatically Collected Technical Data: If you interact with our website to purchase or manage a license, we may collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, and device information, consistent with standard web analytics practices.

3. How Your WhatsApp Data Is Processed {#whatsapp-data}

Squawk reads incoming WhatsApp messages directly on your device in order to generate a reply. This message content, along with any conversation history relevant to that contact, is sent to the AI provider you have configured (see Section 4) in order to generate a response. TenH Tech does not intercept, log, or transmit this content to its own servers.

You are solely responsible for the WhatsApp account you connect to Squawk. Because Squawk uses an unofficial, browser-session-based connection method rather than the official Meta WhatsApp Business API, there is an inherent risk that WhatsApp may flag, restrict, or ban the connected number. This risk exists independently of TenH Tech's software and is a known characteristic of this type of automation. By using Squawk, you acknowledge and accept this risk.

4. Third-Party AI Providers {#third-party-ai}

Squawk requires you to connect your own account and API key with a third-party AI provider of your choice, including but not limited to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google (Gemini), or Groq. When Squawk generates a reply, relevant message content is transmitted directly from your device to your chosen provider's servers, governed by that provider's own privacy policy and terms of service.

TenH Tech does not control, and is not responsible for, how third-party AI providers process, store, or use data submitted through their APIs. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of your selected provider before use.

5. Local Storage & Data Location {#local-storage}

Squawk stores your configuration, encrypted API keys, message logs, and per-contact conversation memory locally on your own device, using encrypted local storage. This data does not pass through or reside on any TenH Tech server, except where limited licensing/activation data is transmitted as described in Section 2.

Because storage is local, you are responsible for the security of the device on which Squawk is installed, including maintaining appropriate access controls, antivirus protection, and backups.

6. Licensing & Account Data {#licensing-data}

If you purchase a Squawk license, we retain limited account and licensing data (such as license type, activation status, device count, and expiry) for as long as necessary to administer your license, provide support, and enforce these terms.

7. Data Sharing & Disclosure {#sharing}

We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information in the following circumstances:

  • Third-Party AI Providers: As described in Section 4, at your direction and configuration.
  • Service Providers: Infrastructure providers (such as our licensing and hosting infrastructure) who assist in operating the licensing system, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal Requirements: Where required to comply with applicable law, regulation, or valid legal process.

8. Data Security {#security}

We apply reasonable technical and administrative safeguards to protect licensing and account data under our control, and Squawk applies local encryption to stored configuration and message data on your device. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission, whether local or online, can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data once it is transmitted to third-party AI providers.

9. Data Retention {#retention}

Locally stored data (messages, conversation memory, settings) remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall Squawk. Licensing and account data is retained by TenH Tech only for as long as necessary to administer your license and comply with legal obligations.

10. Your Data Rights {#rights}

Depending on applicable law in your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data held by TenH Tech (such as licensing/account data). Since WhatsApp message content and conversation memory are stored locally on your own device, you retain full control over that data and can delete it directly through the application or by uninstalling Squawk.

To exercise any rights regarding data held by TenH Tech, contact us at the details in Section 13.

11. Children's Privacy {#children}

Squawk is not directed at, and should not be used by, individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

12. Changes to This Policy {#changes}

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of Squawk after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
